The Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashiru Gegu on Saturday the 5th day of February 2022 bags Award as the Kogi Youths Promoter at the 4th Edition of Kogi Social Media Awards. The event which took place at the Wisdom Event Center Lokoja, witnessed crowed comprising of both the young and the aged all of both genders.  Following the pronunciation of the Award conferred on Engr Abubakar Bashiru Gegu, The Hon Commissioner who was ably represented by the Chairman of the NYCN Kogi LG Chapter, Comrade Abubakar Isah Ada-Abu dedicated the Award to the Youths of Kogi State who lost their lives while battling for the safer Kogi State.  He further appreciated the Youths of Kogi State for finding him worthy of such Awards and promised to do more than he has done over time. History of Opanda Kingdom Opanda Kingdom was an ancient African kingdom located in what is now Nigeria. Ancient history. The ancient Opanda Kingdom was founded by the Egbura/Egbira ethnic group. Its growth culminated in the Umaisha ,(Oherehu) which is now the alternative seat of Opanda.
